Beauty

Student: Miss Duff look! (as she presses her lips forward to make a duck face)
Teacher: What's that?
Student: It's beauty!  (as she continues to push out her lips)
Teacher: Oh, that's beauty?!
Student: Yes, it's what you do when you're beautiful.
Teacher: (silence)

I love these kindergarteners!  I wonder where she saw this?  

We have all seen that profile pic or IG post with the famous duck face, and apparently five year olds have too. 

I always say this, but I love giving children the opportunity to speak as it allows us to really help them navigate the things they see and hear.
