Student: (approaches my desk) Miss Duff I think you need to move my desk.
Teacher: Why?
Student: Because me and John are always talking, so I think you should move my desk.
Teacher: What a responsible choice!!
I was so amazed by this 7 year old! When he asked to move his desk because he was distracted - that was a sure sign of maturity. He was able to identify his problem and provide a good solution. If we can get all children to think like this - it would make our jobs a lot easier :)
